Computer Science (New) Form 3 Syllabus

    1. Demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles of computer architecture
      1. Describe the concept of data representation (digital data, number systems, data type, character coding (UNICODE and ASCII)
      2. Represent numbers in different number systems (binary, octal, decimal, and hexadecimal)
      3. Convert numbers from one system to another (binary, decimal, and hexadecimal)
      4. Perform arithmetic operations (addition and subtraction) using binary numbers
    2. Demonstrate an understanding of basic principles of computer programming (using an appropriate structured programming language such as C, python, etc.)
      1. Use the syntax and constructs of selected programming language to write program (iteration, functions, array, and string)
      2. Use scope of variable in a program
      3. Text and Debug computer program that employs iteration, array, string, branching and functions
      4. Appraise the utility of the developed program
